April Ross
April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball players who have won medals in several Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics is hoping to secure her third medal. Ross is hoping to secure an Olympic the first medal of gold, but she's also hoping to win even more. It could be the last chance she'll ever have to do so at the age of 39. But she's still convinced of winning top awards. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing consistently or well they can earn a gold. "I'm trying to also try a little luck." Ross born August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She lived there together with her parents. Along with competing in various sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. She was definitely an edge over the other players when it came to the second sport. As a college volleyball season as per her college biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. To honor her achievements she was awarded the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her due to her volleyball skills. Ross and Klineman might be working on a project at the beginning of 2017, but Ross was already an established athlete at the beach prior to when they joined forces. It's true that she has been able to win multiple events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. For six years from 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Along with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009 while competing internationally. This duo went into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement when she retired. In 2016, the duo were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross played for the Trojans at USC during her the college years following her graduation from high school. Ross had an impressive run during her time in the NCAA tournament. In 2000, as a freshman she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA All-American Freshman of Year honors and was an All-American. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. In her sophomore season she suffered a devastating personal tragedy, but earned the distinction of being an All-American. In her last two seasons in the Trojans team the team was led to success by winning two successive national titles. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US by the Honda Sports Award. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Margie Ross never saw her daughter reach the top of beach volleyball. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer while she was a sophomore in USC. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and close. Margie, on the beach and in daily life, inspires her.
